Baby Names

Selecting the right name was very important to us.  We made sure to look up the meaning of each name because we believe the name really can be a good reflection of who we are.

For example, the meaning of my name Michelle according to Sheknows.com:

French Meaning: The name Michelle is a French baby name. In French the meaning of the name Michelle is: Feminine of Michael: gift from God.
American Meaning:
The name Michelle is an American baby name. In American the meaning of the name Michelle is: Feminine of Michael: gift from God.
Hebrew Meaning:
The name Michelle is a Hebrew baby name. In Hebrew the meaning of the name Michelle is: Close to God. Feminine form of Michael: Who is like God? Gift from God.
SoulUrge Number: 1People with this name have a deep inner desire to use their abilities in leadership, and to have personal independence. They would rather focus on large, important issues, and delegate the details.
Expression Number: 4People with this name tend to be orderly and dedicated to building their lives on a solid foundation of order and service. They value truth, justice, and discipline, and may be quick-tempered with those who do not. Their practical nature makes them good at managing and saving money, and at building things in the material world. Because of their focus on order and practicality, they may seem overly cautious and conservative at times.

I think this meaning is pretty close to my character.  Plus, who can argue with 'gift from God' ;)

The meaning of Andrew according to Sheknows.com is:

Biblical Meaning: The name Andrew is a Biblical baby name. In Biblical the meaning of the name Andrew is: A strong man.
English Meaning:
The name Andrew is an English baby name. In English the meaning of the name Andrew is: Manly; brave. In the bible the first of the twelve apostles chosen. Andrew is patron saint of Scotland and Russia. See also Jedrick and Kendrick.
Greek Meaning:
The name Andrew is a Greek baby name. In Greek the meaning of the name Andrew is: Manly. St Andrew, an apostle of Jesus Christ, later became patron saint of Scotland. The Scottish city St Andrews is named for him. It was in frequent use throughout Britain during the Middle Ages.
SoulUrge Number: 6People with this name have a deep inner desire for a stable, loving family or community, and a need to work with others and to be appreciated.
Expression Number: 11People with this name tend to be idealistic, highly immaginative, intuitive, and spiritual. They seek after spiritual truth and often find it. They tend to be visionary and may inspire others. If they fail to develop their potential, they may become dreamers, or misuse power.

The meanings for Andrew's name is also pretty close to his character.  I mean how 'manly' can you get?  If you have seen Drew, you know what I mean.

We want to see what name YOU think we have chosen for our precious princess.  Check out this voting site and let us know!

Thanks!

Week 24 & 25 Update

Week 24 & 25 Update

It has been another week of running around at work, having our 24-week check-up and preparing to drive to Georgia for Christmas.

Week 24
Looks like a photo trick with a slight tip of the camera the baby bump looks different

Week 25
Next to our ChristmasTree
Next week we will begin using our chalkboard again

This week has been FREEZING!  For Florida weather temperatures dipped into the high 40s and low 50s.
Then jumps 10-20 degrees by afternoon time.
****Nothing compared to Georgia****

You cannot really see it, but the temperature is 28 degrees and there is a little snowflake to the left of the temp

Gender: Princess (is that a gender?)
Weight gain:  Officially 9lbs which sounds like so much!  I feel it when walking up the steps.
On a good note, only 2lbs gained between week 20 and 24
Maternity clothes:  No, but I may cave soon.  Baby does not like it when I wear pants.
Stretch marks: No.
Belly button in or out:  More of an outie but not completely
Sleep:  Pretty well.  I just fall asleep on the couch mainly because I can lean against the backing.
Best moment this week:  Ummm Chirstmas time!!!  Baby wise, daddy is able to tell when she is moving and is able to feel her kick :)

Worst moment this week:  Daddy threw out his back during Christmas week.  We were a sight to see...Daddy walking like he was carrying the baby and I actually carrying the baby. During our visit in Georgia, the hubskies had to see the Chiropractor and on the way back home the car ride was very very uncomfortable to say the least.

Miss anything:  Stamina does not even explain it.  This past week, it feels as though baby is pressing against my lungs so I am out of breath here and there.  It has gotten better and I position myself differently so she and I get the O2 we need :)  It's just amazing she is that big already - or it's because I am that small...
Movement:  Yes.  It's neat because she responds to Daddy's voice when he is on the phone (that is when he really projects his voice).  It's also neat to feel her move her hands and feet at the same time so my stomach is moving in so many directions.
She also does not like daddy's alarm clock.  She has made that well known as she has woken me up from kicking so hard at the response of his alarm.
Cravings:  Still the same things:  Ice cold water, apples and hot dogs.  Although we do not have hot dogs at home so this is a craving I've yet to satisfy.
Queasy or sick:  No.  Praise the LORD!
Looking forward to: Daddy getting better, breathing better and seeing baby at our next sonogram.  Yikes!  I cannot believe we are entering the 6th month!  My how time flies.

Here are some photos from Week 24 & 25 of how we spent our Christmas and New Years...

We cannot wait to meet our talented little girl :)

Week 22 - 23 Update

Week 22 - 23 Update

I have a lot of catching up to do on here!  Time has been flying and not much has been changing between weeks so I made an executive decision to skip a week ;)

Now let's get up to speed.  So you can see I am not exaggerating with how quickly Princess T is growing, I have posted photos for the past few weeks.  Please excuse where the photos were taken as this is where our full length mirror is located.
 Week 21
 Week 22
Week 22 almost Week 23
Seeing the belly is UNREAL!!!  I know I am pregnant, but actually paying attention to it is somewhat foreign to me.

Gender: Baby Girl!!!!
Weight gain:  7-8 lbs -  I have been eating larger meals but the slow digestion kicks my bumm.
Not a huge difference in weight gain but princess keeps growing.
My mother has called her 'matakaw'...which means greedy in tagalog because she is hogging all of the food.  I told her our daughter must get that from Daddy.
Maternity clothes:  Not yet.  Dresses have been my go to outfit.
Within the past week I did purchase a BeBand so I can get more wear out of my pants.  Maternity clothing is overpriced!  I'd rather get something name brand ;)
Stretch marks: No - and going through my whipped Argan oil like it's the end of the world
Belly button in or out: Its confused right now.  My belly button wants to be flat/stick out but can't make up it's mind.
Sleep:  Pretty well.  I just fall asleep on the couch mainly because I can lean against the backing.
Best moment this week:  Feeling her kick even during meetings at work.  It is pretty awesome stuff.  And getting the BeBand.

Worst moment this week:  Can't say I had one.  I stand corrected...watching a birthing video on my BabyCenter app.  No offense, but I do not understand how men willingly want to be in the delivery room.  I commend you!
Miss anything:  Same as the previous week... Stamina.  I just want to go, go, go but my body says 'slow slow slow'  Booooo!
Movement:  Yes.  I cannot wait to experience her respond to music and Drew's voice because now she should be able to distinguish between different sounds.
Cravings:  Water.  Apparently not drinking enough.  Apples and hot dogs.  Not at the same time though, that would be weird.
Queasy or sick:  No.  Praise the LORD!
Looking forward to: Everything!  Seeing her run around our Christmas tree this time next year.  Examining her little face after she is born and seeing her smile while she's dreaming.

Well that's it folks for Maternity updates!
I like photos, so here are more from week 23, enjoy :)
These are from the evening of my office's Christmas party

Daddy not helping me with having his photo taken ;)
I don't think this would be an 'approved' pic...

Side shot of the belly after a night of eating way TOOO much!

Week 21 Update

Week 21 Update:  Getting sick :(

So this week I returned to work.  And being the person that I am, this means hitting the pedal to the medal and going for the gusto.  Unfortunately, daddy was getting sick around this time :(  Who caught it too?  I did, YIKES!  We have rested well and are doing better now.

Baby's auntie gave the first pair of shoes!!  They are sooo cute.  Pink (princess) Vans (non-princess) = the perfect shoe.
You can see the pair in the photo too!

Gender: Baby Girl!!!!
Weight gain:  7 lbs -  I have not been able to eat much but constantly hungry.  Between being sick and limited stomach size large meals are obsolete!
Maternity clothes:  Not yet.  Started to wear dresses and yoga pants, especially since I have returned to work.  Work pants have also been cleverly folded inward where it buttons.
Stretch marks: No - and I am running out of oil!!  Just received a new batch of Argan oil.
Belly button in or out: In -  but flat and odd looking.  Maybe it will pop out in the next couple of weeks???
Sleep:  I have been sleeping pretty well except for when I became sick.
Best moment this week:  Hearing Daddy say our princess is 'his baby' :)  To continue feeling her move and seeing her grow.  Also, telling everyone we are having a girl!!!

Worst moment this week:  Getting sick!!  With each cough I feel bad for our little girl.  I am thankful it really has lasted only about two days but I am still very tired.
Miss anything:  Stamina
Movement:  YES!!! This past weekend in the morning she decided to start to kick me.  At first I thought it was cute then she decided to continue kicking me.  I turned to the other side and she stopped kicking however I was uncomfortable.  So...I decided to turn back onto my left side and baby apparently was uncomfortable because she started kicking me again!!!  Alas, we came to a happy medium where she and I were both comfortable.
Cravings:  Water.  Apparently not drinking enough.
Queasy or sick:  No (morning sickness)
Looking forward to: Feeling our baby move more and seeing her.  I am curious to learn what her personality will be like.  Is she going to be quiet or talkative?  Is she going to be a thinker or a dreamer, or both?  Will she be funny or analytic?  We CANNOT wait!!

Week 20 Update: Gender Reveal!!!!

Week 20 Update:  Gender Reveal!!!!

During our visit (week 19) to find out if we are having a boy or a girl, I presented this record to the doctor's office.
They will fill out the record and this will be added to our baby's memory book.

Aside from the funny look on my face, this is probably the best 20 week shot of my belly we have.
We held a Gender Reveal Party and a lot of work went into planning and prepping, that unfortunately our weekly baby bump photos kind of got lost on our list of to-dos.

Gender: We are having a GIRL!!!!
Weight gain:  6-7 lbs - as normal it fluctuates...especially approaching Thanksgiving :)
Maternity clothes:  Not yet.  I am using a hair tie for my jeans - I do have to get the belly band because my stomach has grown exponentially within the past couple of weeks.
Stretch marks: No - hopefully all of my 'lotion' stations will help
Belly button in or out: In -  but flat...weird.
Sleep:  I have been sleeping pretty well unless I have a heavy meal sometime after 4pm.
Best moment this week:  Finding out we are having a BABY GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And daddy was able to feel her kick this week too :)

Worst moment this week:  I cannot say I had a 'worst' moment
Miss anything:  Still missin' my stamina, it just is not the same.  Other than that all is well and pretty much the same.
Movement:  YES!!! I feel her move more and more.  Her movement is such a wonderful reminder that I will meet our baby soon.
Cravings:  Salty and a hot dog again.  My craving was satisfied while watching 'Catching Fire'.
Queasy or sick:  No
Looking forward to: Feeling our baby move more and more.  Also, we now can begin some shopping (within reason) because we are having a girl!!!!

I will have another post on our Gender Reveal Party.

Week 19 Update

Weekly Update

How far along: 19 weeks

My belly shot always shows I am 'pregnant' from my left side.  The right side looks like I have a beer gut - ENJOY!

Gender: We still do not know yet; one more week!!!
Weight gain:  5 lbs - right on track
Maternity clothes:  Not yet.  I am using a hair tie for my jeans.
Stretch marks: No - I am vigorously lathering myself up, multiple times a day if I have to.  Wherever I sit or lay, there is lotion by my side.  Sometimes my tummy with itch or my side and while fighting the urge to scratch, I just add lotion.
Belly button in or out: In - definitely stretching out though.
Sleep:  What's that?  I have taken some time off so my sleeping schedule is out of whack.  Not to mention I get hungry in the middle of the night combined with having to use the restroom multiple times.
Best moment this week:  Taking advantage of this pregnancy and parking in an EXPECTING MOTHERS parking space.  It really is the little things.  Also, most importantly, seeing our baby at the doctors.  I did not realize how worried I was for the baby to be perfectly healthy until going through the anatomy ultrasound.  With everything the tech said I felt a wave of relief roll over me.  Healthy baby!!!

Worst moment this week:  Intermittent lower back soreness.
Miss anything:  ENERGY!  My stamina is running low.  I was in a marketing position where I practically ran wherever I had to go for 8-10 hours straight, then worked more at home on the computer.  Now my body needs a rest if I have been at the grocery store for 15-20 minutes.  It's frustrating :)
Movement:  YES!!!  It is so cool and amazing.  God is awesome.  I keep telling the hubby it's pretty cool there is a human inside of me growing - then remind him God chose me to carry this miracle :)  If you know us, you will get this comment.
Cravings:  A hot dog!  I no longer have the nausea like I did for about a month in the first trimester BUT my body still tells me what should or should not be eaten.  With that said, I was afraid my body was not going to want the hot dog however I was WRONG! Yay for me :)
Queasy or sick:  No
Looking forward to: Finding out if we are having a boy or girl!

Gender Reveal Party

My hubskies and I decided on throwing a gender reveal party so we are able to share in the joy when we find out if we are having a boy or a girl :)

Thankfully a friend has helped with placing an order for our cake for the gender reveal party!!!  YAY!!!  Below are a few ideas for the cake, what do you think?

We decided on two layer ombre with the icing to mimic the owl cake above (sans owl).
